Asia Pacific's leading and biggest fine dining and bar show - Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2011

Now in its ninth year, Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong which is widely regarded as the definitive event for the restaurant industry will take place from 6 - 8 September 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 200 top-quality hospitality operators will showcase more than 1,000 brand new products, from frozen yogurt, foie gras, to restaurateurs and bar owners in Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong market - the region's most sophisticated and fastest growing economy. Hot brands in the show includes San Miguel, Suntory Premium Malt, Nespresso, STS Coffee, Canadian Beef Export Federation, Norwegian Seafood, House of Find Wines, XTC Gelato, Lucaris, Pedrali Italian bar furniture by Marc James, and hundreds more.


Besides the main reason of sourcing products and services from new suppliers, visitors come to Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong can learn from the free educational seminars and get inspirations for the latest gimmick, assisting restaurateurs to stay one step ahead of competitors.

Tasting the world's fine food

Chef Masterclasses will be held throughout the three show days. Michelin Star Chefs such as CHAN Yung from Sun Tung Lok Chinese Cuisine (3 stars) will perform live cooking demonstration of their signature dishes in front of fellow professionals.

If you are interested to explore food science, please do come to the Disciples Escoffier area from 6th to 8th September showcasing the chemistry behind cooking such as the ways to cook juicy meat by a group of the world's leading chefs.

The 4th Norwegian Seafood Young Chefs Challenge will heat the show within the Disciples Escoffier Theatre everyday from 12:00pm to 12:30pm with the winner ceremony at 5:30pm on 8th September. Young chefs will use Norwegian Salmon as the main ingredients to come up with some inspirational dishes. 

With the growing popularity in Pizza in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Perfect Pizza Challenge will be held on 7th September to find out who can make the best pizzas in Hong Kong!

Exploring the world's best wines

In response to the growing love in fine wines in Hong Kong, there will be a Wine tasting theatre in Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong. You will be inspired of how to put together the perfect wine list and provide your customers with the best wine choices in this corner. Debra MEIBURG who is the Master of Wine will also be there to show you the best wines.

A house wine says a lot about an establishment and restaurateurs should be proud of the choice that they feel represents them best. A good house wine looks simple but can lead someone who doesn't drink wine before becomes a wine lover. The Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong House Wine Awards have been launched in response to an industry wide call to recognise restaurants who have taken the time to select a house wine that they are truly proud of. 

Another first launched award will be the Wine by The Glass Restaurant Awards which aims at finding out the restaurants with the best selection of wine available by the glass to accompany each dish. 

Both of the final round judging of the two wine awards will take place on 6th September with their presentation ceremony at around 6pm on the same day. Join us to celebrate the winning entries and sample a glass of the best house wine in the Wine Tasting Theatre

Sipping the world's best drinks

The Show Bar will undoubtedly be the social hotspot at the show again where the hospitality community can gather together for an unlimited supply of many of the region's best beers and wines. 

The 3rd Hong Kong International Beer Awards will continue to recognize the best beers available in Hong Kong in thirteen categories. Winner Beers will be awarded in the Awards presentation ceremony at 1pm on 6th September in the Show Bar area.

The Stella Artois Draught Master Hong Kong 2011 finals will have its all day competition taking place on the 6th September with its prize-giving ceremony at 5pm on the same day. You will enjoy the skilful performance including the 9-step pouring ritual of Stella Artois by the best bartenders in Hong Kong. 

If you are looking for unique and obscure spirits to offer your customers, there will be the Cocktail & Spirit Theatre where you can learn from expert bartenders throughout the three show days.

Enjoying the world's best coffee-making skills

Hong Kong's best baristas will showcase their professionalism, passion and skill in Hong Kong Barista Championship on 7th Sep. Result will be announced at 6:00pm and winner will represent Hong Kong to compete in the Barista's Oscar - World Barista Championship (WBC).

Another world-level championship, World Siphonist Championship (Hong Kong Regional Competition) will also take place in the Restaurant and Bar on 8th September with its winner presentation at 6pm. Participants will compete to represent Hong Kong to enter the Grand Final World Siphonist Championship in Japan.

Learning from the Social Media Experts

On 7th September, THE Social Media Seminars for restaurateurs will be conducted by renowned social media companies - Groupon, Openrice and Sina Wei Bo from 3pm to 4:30pm. You will be inspired of how to reach the large amounts of potential customers by making use of social media.
